School reopening dates

All schools, except those which will be closed for evaluating grade five scholarship exams, will reopen on 3 September, the Education Ministry said.


Issuing a media statement, Ministry Secretary Gotabhaya Jayarathne said schools which will be used as evaluation centres are due to reopen on 10 September.


Schools that will be closed are: Susamayawardana Maha Vidyalaya Colombo 8, Yasodara Balika Vidyalaya Colombo 10, Maharagama President’s College, St. Mary’s Maha Vidyalaya Avissawella, Gampaha Gothami Junior School, Rathnapura Fergursan High School, Embilipitiya Maha Vidyalaya, Bandarawela St. Joseph’s Vidyalaya, Badulla Dharmadootha Vidyalaya, Mahiyanganaya Madhya Maha Vidyalaya, Galle Anuladevi Balika Vidyalaya, Kotuwa President’s College, Tangalle Rahula Vidyalaya, Kurunegala Maliyadevi Model School, Kurunegala Central Maha Vidyalaya, Trincomalee Wagneshwaran Maha Vidyalaya, Kegalle St. Mary’s Maha Vidyalaya, Peradeniya Sarasavi Uyana Maha Vidyalaya, Kandy Kingswood College, Hatton St. John Boscoe Maha Vidyalaya. The above mentioned schools will reopen on 10 September.
