2.55 p.m - More than nine SriLankamirror employees have been arrested by the police a short while ago, according to ground reports.
Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials are currently searching the office of news website Srilankamirror, ground reports stated.
All the computers of the Srilankamirror has been confiscated by the Criminal Investigations Department for further investigations, the reason for the search warrant is not known to us, but is suspected that the search was due a compliant received by the police, Editor of the Srilankamirror website Kelum Shivantha told Ceylon Today Online.
He further added the updating of the website will have to be suspended for the time being due to the confiscation of computers by the CID.
The office of the news website which is located in Pitta Kotte is currently being searched, with the possession of a Court ordered search warrant, by CID officials.
CID and uniformed policemen have questioned the staff and reportedly confiscated some of the computers being used according to ground reporters. UNP MP Mangala Samaraweera is also currently at the scene. (Ceylon Today Online)
