World renowned Jazz Guitarist Martin Taylor will be performing at a Musical Concert with a blend of local artists including Amarasiri Pieris, Nirosha Virajini, Kasun Kalhara, Bathiya & Santhush etc. The show will commence at Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksha Theatre on 19th February 2012 at 7.00 pm.
MARTIN TAYLOR has won many accolades across the globe and has established a unique musical career as an internationally acclaimed musician. His inimitable style has seen him recognized as the world’s foremost exponent of solo jazz guitar.
He is a Trustee and Vice President of Scotland’s Buddhist Vihara and is a Patron of My Wish Charity, U.K. The concert is held in aid of supporting Terminally ill children and building a cancer support centre for children.
Although completely self taught, he has enjoyed a remarkable musical career spanning across five decades, during which period has invented and developed a way of playing the guitar that is admired, and often imitated by guitarists all over the world. He is also a master concert performer, dazzling audiences with his solo shows, which combine virtuosity, emotion, humor, with a strong stage presence.
He spends time traveling around the globe, playing in concerts in Europe, North America, Japan, and Australasia as well as presiding over the uniquely innovative Martin Taylor Guitar Academy online.
