One person was killed and three others were injured after a fire erupted inside a  three-storey tyre shop in front of Hotel Road in Mount Lavinia along the Galle Road early morning today.

The fire, which erupted between 1.30 a.m and 2 a.m this morning, raged on for hours fueled by rubber tyres inside the shop, the building was heavily damaged due to fire which was later brought under control by several Fire Brigade and Sri Lankan Air Force Units after an immense effort.

Three persons who were injured due to the blaze were admitted to the Kalubowila Hospital for treatment early morning.

 The reason for the fire is still, unknown and the police is conducting further investigations. (Ceylon Today Online)
