During the cold and dark winter in the freezing north of China's Heilongjiang Province, many tourists head to the annual Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival.

It originally began as a traditional ice lantern show and garden party in 1963 before developing into the world's largest international ice and snow sculpting festival in 2001.

Today, spectacular and diverse ice artworks are showcased, attracting millions of visitors every year.
