Thurstan College Colombo and Maris Stella College Negombo have taken control in their games in the quarter-finals of the 'Singer Trophy' Under 19 division 1 inter schools in the cricket tournament played at Kadirana and Surrey grounds yesterday on day one.

Thushal Madhusanka of Thurstan took 6 wickets for 58 runs against Dharmasoka. Matches will be continued today.

At Kadirana

Dharmasoka were bowled out for 186 runs in 76.2 overs. Kasun Madhuranga scored 78 runs. Thurstan scored 21 runs without losing a wicket.
