Ananda beats St. Sebastian’s by 8 wickets

Ananda College beat defending champions St. Sebastian's College by 8 wickets in a first round match of the 'Singer Trophy' Under 17 division 1 inter schools cricket tournament played at St. Sebastian's ground Moratuwa yesterday.

Leshan Amarasinghe right hand opening batsman of Isipathana College Colombo scored 162 runs in 165 balls with 13 boundaries and 7 sixes against Ananda Shashthralaya Kotte. Amarasinghe with Shamilka Wickramathilake (37) also made a 144 run stand for 5th wicket. Ishira Kamalgoda right arm off spinner of Isipathana Colombo took 5 wickets for 6 runs when Isipathana beat Ananda Shashthralaya by 205 runs at Colts.

Carey College beat St. Peter's College by 3 wickets at the Railway grounds.
