Last Week Tonight host John Oliver has been cast as Zazu in Disney's upcoming remake of The Lion King.

Oliver is stepping into the role made famous by Rowan Atkinson in the original 1996 animated film. Zazu was featured in The Lion King as a political advisor to Mufasa and then later his son Simba.

Oliver recently lent his voice to upcoming animated film Amusement Park for Paramount and starred as Vanity Smurf in Sony's The Smurfs franchise.

The HBO star joins a star-studded voice cast that already includes Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen as Timon and Pumbaa along with Donald Glover as Simba and James Earl Jones reprising his role as Mufasa. Beyonce is rumored to be appearing as Nala.

The Lion King, directed by Jon Favreau from a script by Jeff Nathanson, is set to arrive in theaters July 18, 2019.
