Army releases 133 acres in Keppapilavu

On the directive of Minister of Resettlement D. M. Swaminathan, 133 acres of land in the Keppapilavu area of the Muhudubadapattu Divisional Secretariat, where an Army Headquarter was located, will be released today (28).

Rs 148 million has been provided to the Army through the Ministry of Resettlement in order to relocate the Army headquarters.


Minister Swaminathan had informed the Divisional Secretariat yesterday (27) to take necessary steps to return this land to their original owners.

People will be able to regain their own lands after their 290-day-long protest ends today, according Swaminathan, who has announced that steps would also be taken to resettle 85 families on the land area with the dawn of 2018.
