ITN joins hands with Abans

ITN joins Abans for Sooryabala Sangramaya to generate electricity using solar power to fulfill ITN's energy consumption.

ITN becomes the first large scale media institution in South Asia to use solar energy as a power source. It is expected to generate 100 kw during the first stage of this programme from the solar panels which are to be fixed on the new ITN building complex. The service alliance signed is worth Rs 16.2 million, in the first stage.
The Sooryabala Sangramaya commenced following a concept of Power and Renewable Energy Deputy Minister, Ajith P Perera under the guidance of ITN Chairman, Saman Athawudahetti.

ITN Chief Executive Officer, Chandana Thilakarathna and Abans Chairperson, Aban Pestonjee signed an alliance at the ITN Auditorium initiating the venture.
