Imperial College of Business Studies ( ICBS) is a fast growing education provider in Sri Lanka. Incorporated in 2002, ICBS is headquartered in Colombo with a branch in Kandy and partnerships in India and Bangladesh.
Establishing a strong affiliation and partnership with the University of West Scotland (UWS), ICBS now offers the globally recognized UWS MBA in Finance and Business in Sri Lanka.

Developed with inputs from accounting professionals, the MBA focuses on developing strategic analytical business skills, adaptive and critical thinking ability and an advanced understanding of financial and management accounting required for senior level positions.

This MBA offers a maximum number of exemptions for members of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA ) giving them the option to do research and dissertation which gives the opportunity to complete the MBA in just six months.
This MBA is also an accredited ACCA programme. ACCA Chief Executive, Helen Brand said the programme would be beneficial to ACCA graduates based on curriculum and content.

ICBS is also an approved learning provider of ACCA in Sri Lanka.
ICBS Group Director Operations, Shanmugam Sivabaskaran said, "The MBA from UWS is one that is well received by top corporate professionals at a global level. Our strategic alliance with UWS is a unique relationship and we wanted to offer the facility of studying and gaining their highly ranked MBA to members of two globally renowned professional qualifications such as ACCA and CIMA .We take pride in being a bit different and hope to make this one of the most successful MBA programmes offered in the country".

He added, "One of the key differentiators will be that the classes would be conducted in a digital environment, encouraging active learning, knowledge construction, inquiry, and exploration on the part of the learners".
The programme will be conducted by an eminent panel of academics and professionals including senior professors, doctorates, university lecturers and industry experts who will keep the academic standards on par with the UWS requirements.

With Scottish universities being choosy about offering Degrees in collaboration with others and in such cases, demand a high criterion from the tuition provider and the student, the alliance between ICBS and University of West Scotland will pave the way to not only making these exclusive qualifications more accessible to Sri Lankan students and professionals, but will also help elevate their career potential by delivering a unique and powerful set of insights, tools and skills to prepare them for strategic leadership roles in the finance industry.
