D.S. Senanayake College (DSSC), Colombo 7 is one of the premiere educational institutes in Sri Lanka. Established on 10 February 1967 under the stewardship of late R.I.T. Alles, it stands as a reputed, disciplined and sought after school in the country, which carries the motto 'Country before Self'.

According to the school slogan DSSC has produced many students who have made the supreme sacrifice to protect our motherland endowing us with a free, united and independent Sri Lanka.

To pay tribute to those alumni of Mother DS the Old Boys' Association of DSSC organized "Ranaviru Upahara - 2017", a commemorative event. It was organized for the 22nd consecutive year, on 23 March at the Ranaviru Smarka of DSSC. Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, Lieutenant General A.W.J.C. De Silva graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

DSSC strongly believe that memories of the brave warriors who have fallen to rest in the arms of Mother Lanka should always be kept alive in our hearts and minds. It is they who have secured us the freedom to live freely, by sacrificing their lives as recalled by the Principal R.M.M. Rathnayake.

Senior President of the OBA, Madura Wickramaratne added that it has been a great tradition of DSSC to salute their brothers who have given their lives to protect the country. DSSC has continued to remember and honour "Ranaviru" brothers every year for the past 21 years along with their families.
