St. Thomas' College Matara reached 93 runs for 5 wickets on day one in reply to the 167 made by St. Anne's College Kurunegala in the semi final of the 'Singer Trophy' Under 19 division two inter schools two day knock-out cricket tournament at Aarons Country Club ground Horana yesterday.

St. Anne's won the toss and electing to bat were bowled out 167 runs in 62.3 overs. Skipper Wanitha Wanninayake scored 64 runs in 99 balls with 9 boundaries and a six. Wanitha and Dineth Lakmal put on a 51 run stand for the 4th wicket. Gishanthika Jayaweera took 3 wickets for 41 runs.

In reply St. Thomas' had scored 93 runs for 5 wickets. Raminda Pravinath scored 39 and Tharusha Kavindya is unbeaten on 26 runs. Randeera Ranasinghe took 4 wickets for 20 runs.
