100PLUS Sri Lanka, a leading isotonic beverage brand which is distributed by Zahra International in Sri Lanka, recently stepped forward as the official hydrating partner of young motocross racer, Jacques Gunawardena, for his next race. Jacques is set to compete at the Foxhill Supercross which took place on 15 and 16 April, in Diyatalawa.

Jacques Gunawardena first mounted a motorbike at the age of four and ever since then, he has continuously taken his passion to greater heights. For his opening debut in the 250 racing category in 2016, he emerged as the winner at Foxhill and Sigiriya, where he raced against many of Sri Lanka's top motocross giants. Today, at the age of 17, he has participated in several races and has a list of accolades to show for it. He emerged as the under 16 National Motocross Champion from 2012 -2014 and is the only rider to finish second at the FIM Asia Motocross championship during the 2012 and 2013 season.

Jacques has participated in several international tournaments and races including the Junior Motocross championship in Australia and the Kawasaki Championship held in New Jersey, U.S.A. At present Jacques is a TVS factory rider for both Sri Lanka and India and he has also served as the motocross trainer for the Sri Lanka Air Force contingent.

Commenting on his partnership with 100PLUS Sri Lanka, Jacques Gunawardena said "I am really excited to partner with 100PLUS Sri Lanka, a brand which has come forward to support me and help me take my racing career forward. 100PLUS is a hydrating isotonic sports drink which I actually first tried in Singapore, and I'm really glad that it's now available in Sri Lanka. I put an immense amount of time, energy and effort into training and preparing for my races and hydration is an important part of my fitness routine. When you're racing in the hot sun and constantly doing circuits, it's important to replenish the minerals that you lose due to physical exertion, that's why I opt to take regular hydration breaks, so I can perform at an optimum throughout the day. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of my fans, supporters, family members, friends and the 100PLUS Sri Lanka team, who have all rallied around me and cheered me on through an intense period of preparation and training. I really look forward to competing at the upcoming Foxhill Supercross and hope to deliver a strong performance at this year's race."

Jacques has competed in 131 races since he started his professional motocross racing career in 2006, of which he has secured his place on a podium a total of 118 times.
