Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts offers an awe-inspiring Avurudu aimed at spreading happiness galore along with contemporary celebrations interspersed with tradition.

The promise of vibrant Sri Lankan culture, entertainment and hospitality are the many experiences that guests are invited to bask in. All guests staying at any of the Cinnamon resorts by the beaches, rivers or mountains were welcomed to partake in the exuberant New Year festivities and treats.

The Sinhalese and Tamil New Year was celebrated across all the Cinnamon resorts, and guests enjoyed an absolutely delicious traditional yet novel feast along with the many culturally inspired events and games throughout the day for the most memorable Avurudu!

Habarana Village by Cinnamon and Cinnamon Lodge Habarana presented a scrumptious traditional and trendy Avurudu buffets in keeping with the rich flavour of the cultural triangle. Guests had a wide range of Sri Lankan delicacies to choose from and enjoyed a culinary wonder, including chocolate lavariya and jackfruit fritters. Whilst Cinnamon Wild Yala hosted a rustic yet chic New Year celebration with an Avurudu Ambula surrounded by the thrills and beauty of the wildlife bordering the property.

Bentota Beach by Cinnamon converted into an Andarawatta comprising a Temple, Arachchi Gedera, Gama Gedara, Kopi Kade, Kammala and the Kamatha. Guests got to take part in activities such as playing the Rabana and singing the Raban Padha, lighting the traditional oil lamp, feasting on Rasa Kavili and participating in Avurudu Kreeda.

Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon hosted their annual Avurudu Asiriya with many traditional games and events for kids and adults alike. The most anticipated event of the day was the crowning of the Avurudu Kumaraya and Kumariya.

Cinnamon Bey Beruwela, the resort loved for its close proximity to Colombo also welcomed everyone to their Avurudu cove and was treated to tantalizing local dishes with a modern twist along with a plethora of activities during the dawn of the New Year.

The beauty of Sri Lanka's multicultural element was in full swing this year with Trinco Blu by Cinnamon inviting its guests to indulge in the treats and sweets of its 'Soorya Malgalya'.

Trinco Blu by Cinnamon celebrated the New Year along with the colour and conventions of Tamil customs and rites. While, Cinnamon Citadel Kandy situated in the core of Sinhalese tradition and heritage celebrated the New Year in keeping to all the rituals bestowed from the time of the royals.
