Greshan Aravinda wins Gold in Kyrgyzstan

CT Sports: Long jumper Greshan Dhananjaya and 400m hurdler Aravinda Chathuranga added two more Gold medals, as Sri Lanka won a total of four Golds and one silver medal at the Kyrgyzstan Open Athletics Championship concluded at Bishek yesterday.

Greshan whose personal best leap is 7.83m which he achieved in April, leapt 7.78m to win the Gold medal, while Aravinda clocked 52.53 seconds to win the Gold medal.

In other events of the day, high jumper Dulanjali Ranasinghe sealed Silver with a leap of 1.80m, while 800m runner Susantha Kumara finished second in a tape finish to win a Silver medal in 1 minute 51 seconds.

Earlier in the Championship sprinter Ashraff Ladeef and triple jumper Hashini Balasooriya won Gold medals, while triple jumper Atheetha Karunasinghe finished with a Silver medal.
