CT Sports: Officially SL Coach Graham Ford is on a short leave, but he has left with virtually all his belongings this time unlike any of his previous visits back home.

Meanwhile, at home at both SLC and Sports Ministry, Ford's authority is diminishing, where Team Manager Asanka Gurusinha was the one who was visibly in-charge during the past few SL series even though Ford was around, indicating there is a clear dispute.Ford has had a lengthy discussion with SLC President Thilanga Sumathipala the day before his departure. Nevertheless, SL team and coaching staff have been given a week's leave and will resume practices next Friday.

According to a top source in the sports hierarchy, they are not keen about retaining Ford as the coach, with questions being raised about his coaching methods, which seems is not suitable for SL players.

Earlier, Sri Lanka had confirmed Ford would be their coach till the 2019 ICC World Cup by offering him a contract till the end of the World Cup, but the situation seems to have changed now. If Ford is compelled to vacate his position, present Team Manager Gurusinha is likely to take charge, possibly as both coach cum manager.

Also, with the Selection Committee's term coming to an end this month, there might be a change in the composition with a new Chairman of Selector's set to be appointed. However, the SLC source revealed some of the SLC Exco members are favour of retaining Sanath Jayasuriya in the post.
