Role of Police increased after the war – IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP), Pujith Jayasundara said yesterday (16) that it was the responsibility of the Police to establish a nation where the people can live in freedom. Addressing a gathering, during an opening ceremony held to mark the opening of a new Police station in Arachchikattuwa, the IGP added that the need for the Police has increased since the end of the separatist war which the country experienced for a period of thirty years.

IGP Jayasundara further commented on the role and service of Sri Lanka Police, towards society.
