CT Sports: Floodlights at the Dambulla Stadium have been upgraded once again and 12 bulbs each have been added to the four towers on either side of the ground, temporally ahead of first ODI between Sri Lanka and India to be played on Sunday. The bulbs had been added close to the floodlight towers separately on a stand where it does not affect the strength of the incumbent towers, which is already holding bulbs to its maximum capacities.

According to Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), new lights have been added following a request from live broadcaster Sony as they had asked for more brightness in the outer parameters of the ground. The lights will be utilized at an indoor stadium after the match and the cost has been around Rs 5 million for the upgrade.

The Floodlights at Dambulla were upgraded last year by DIMO at an expense of Rs 50 million, when day and night cricket returned to Dambulla after years, as the previous floodlight system was declared sub standard.
