Tamil National Alliance (TNA) and Opposition Leader R. Sampanthan in a letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, has stated that the Good Governance Government has failed to deliver on its pledges towards the Tamil community.

In the letter, Sampanthan has stressed the need of the UN's intervention in urging the Sri Lankan Government to resolve the problems faced by the Tamil community.

He has further said the government has not yet initiated programmes to resettle the war affected people and to implement a mechanism to probe into the disappearances.

Sampanthan also reprimands the government in his letter to the UN Secretary General for being indifferent to the matters pertaining to the releasing of lands and constitutional amendments.

Speaking to Ceylon Today, Vanni District MP Selvam Adaikkalanathan said that TNA expects immediate action from the UN Secretary General in response to the letter forwarded to him. "The letter has been sent to the embassies as well," Adaikkalanathan said.
