The Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) probing the controversial Central Bank Treasury Bond issues, dispatched a team of Police officers to the house of Perpetual Treasuries Ltd. owner Arjun Aloysius when he failed to arrive at the Commission and present documents that the commissioners had asked for.

The Police team told the commission that Aloysius was not present at home and those who were there did not know where he was. This has raised the question whether Aloysius has left the country. Senior Additional Solicitor General (SASG) Dappula de Livera told the Commission that he has unverified information that Aloysius has left the country. Aloysius' Counsel Anuja Premaratne, responding to de Livera, denied that his client had left the country and said that his client would definitely appear before the Commission today. The Commission had earlier ordered Aloysius to produce statements of his accounts in the Pan Asia Bank and Standard Chartered Bank by last morning. Aloysius' Counsel told the Commission yesterday that the two banks had promised his client they would issue the statements of his accounts by tomorrow (13) and he was ready to hand them over to the Commission as soon as he received them from the banks.
