A brilliant all-round effort by Pradyun Saikia helped the British School in Colombo record a massive 176-run win over Colombo International School in a U-15 Inter-International School Cricket match played on Monday at Panadura. Saikia scored an unbeaten 123 off 75 balls with 20 boundaries and two sixes and picked up two for nine to register their resounding victory.

Batting first, BSC cricketers amassed a massive 309 in their 29 overs for the loss of four wickets largely thanks to the quick fire century by Saikia and a fine 71 by Rahul Chigullapalli off 50 balls including four sixes. Captain Kavinda Subasinghe made 37 runs off 22 balls including three sixes to increase the ran-rate.

Chasing the massive total CIS, Colombo never got going as they lost wickets at regular intervals. Saikia (2/9), Subasinghe (2/9) and Vishnu Praveen (2/6) were the main destroyers. Ahamed Hanif scored 44 runs for CIS.

BSC 309 for 4 (Pradyun Saikia 123 not out, Rahul Chigullapalli 71, Kavinda Subasinghe 37)

CIS 133 for 9 (Ahamed Hanif 44, Pradyun Saikia 2 for 9, Kavinda Subasinghe 2 for 9, Vishnu Praveen 2 for 6)
