West Indies women beat Sri Lanka women by 6 wickets in the ICC Women's World Cup series at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy Trinidad on Wednesday (11).

Sri Lanka women were bowled out for 136 runs in 49.4 overs. Yashoda Mendis (34), Dilani Manodara (28) and Chamari Atapattu (25) were the chief scorers.

West Indies women spinners Hayley Matthews, Stafanie Taylor and Afy Fletcher claimed 3 wickets each.

West Indies women reached their target for the loss of 4 wickets in 39 overs. Merissa Aguilleira (32 n.o.), Chedean Nation (24) and Deandra Dottin (22) were the chief contributors towards their victory.

Hayley Matthews was named player of the match.

The second ODI will be held at the same venue today (13).
