Dialog Champions league Renown SC in impressive win

Renown SC produced a scintillating display of football to overhelm their opponents Crystal Palace 4-1 in their Dialog Champions league at Jayathilaka Stadium Nawalapitiya yesterday.

Job Michael played key role for Renown SC and scored a hat-trick. His first two goals came in the first half (22nd and 24th minutes), while his third came in the second half. However, it was Mohamed Imran who opened the scoring in the 5th minute.

Crystal Place found the equalizer soon after when Basith Ahamed scored a superb goal in the eighth minute of the game.

At half time Renown led 3-1.

Police vs Matara SC

Police SC got the better of Matara SC 1-nil at Police Park in a closely fought encounter. The winning goal was scored by Chathura Gunaratne in the 63rd minute of the game.

During the first half Matara SC's Nigerian Player D. Osagi collided with Policegoal keeper. He received a head injury and had to be taken to the Accident Service revealed an FFSL source.

Saunders SC vs Blue Star SC

The match between Blue Star SC and Saunders SC ended in a one-all draw at City League ground in Colombo.

In a balance first half both sides had equal opportunities, but poor finishing and good defending denied them goals.

It took only three minutes into the second half for Saunders to get on to the score sheet through Mohamed Fahir. Kasun Jayasuriya scored the equalizer for Blue Star in the 79th minute of the game.
