Manilka to lead Isipathana

Isipathana College appointed Manilka Rubeyru captain of their 1st XV Rugby team for the upcoming 2018 season. Manilka has been involved with the Isipathana College 1st XV set up since 2015 when he was just 14 years of age. The Fly Half turned center will be Isipathana's youngest ever player to captain the 'Green Machine' and has the potential to be the first Isipathana rugby player to play for six years, as he can represent his alma mater until the year 2020.

In addition, third year coloursman Nasran Nilamudeen has been appointed vice captain of the team. Nasran who plays as a wing forward will lead the pack and will look to lead the team alongside Ruberu.

The duo will be leading a young outfit and will be determined to wrest back the title that slipped away from them in 2017.

Both appointments were officially announced yesterday at the Isipathana College premises by their Principal Premasiri Epa.
