Kandy scored another win in the Dialog Rugby League as they beat Army Sports Club 58-13 at Nittawela yesterday.

Kandy scored nine tries, five conversions and a penalty to Army's one try, one conversion and two penalties. Anurudda Wilwara scored the first try for Kandy. He ran around Army defenders and scored a great try. Place kicker Thilina Wijesingha missed the conversion.

Dhanushka Ranjan scored their second try in the 12th minute and it happened to be their best try. Wijesingha had an easy conversion.

Thereafter Army SC's full back Gayan Salinda converted two penalties to reduce the lead to 12-6.

Wilwara had no difficulty in scoring Kandy SC's third try in the 20th minute after handing off a few defenders. Sreenath Sooriyabandara scored next when he found a gap and went through for a try. This try was converted by Wijesingha.

As Kandy SC maintained a fast and open game with little resistance coming from the Army, Richard Dharmapala and Ranjan scored their next two tries. With that Kandy SC led 34-6 at half time.

Kandy SC began scoring early in the second half when Wilwara scored in the run of play. Wijesinghe converted and Kandy made it 41-7 at that point.

Kandy never looked like stopping at that and Ranjan scored again. They were looking for more tries.

It was Army's turn to score and after winning a scrum opened up and Skipper Thusitha Senanayake was on the wing to go over unchallenged when Kandy were down to 13 men. Kandy continued to dominate and Nigel Ratwatte opted to take a penalty so that Kandy can obtain the fifty points. Kandy finished off the game in great fashion. Flank forward Jason Dissanayake scored a try that was converted and they finished off with a massive margin, 58-13.
