Justice League, the newest DC Comics superhero film released recently, bringing together American comic book superhero idols and fresh faces on the big screen. The film, as part of the Justice League Film Series is the fifth instalment, as part of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).

This is a film that many DCEU fans have been waiting for, for months, and it is finally here, with superheroes coming together in this fantasy, science fiction film that's filled with action, strength and serious impact.

Centred on the tagline "You can't save the world alone", the film is based on Justice League by Gardner Fox, and focuses on bringing back Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Superman (Henry Cavill), while introducing The Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and Aquaman (Jason Momoa) as part of a new team of superheroes, while Lois Lane (Amy Adams) and Martha Kent (Diane Lane) also play a key role in the film, adding that emotional feel.
The film continues where 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ended, in a world without Superman, but with Batman being inspired and having faith in the good and with hope for humanity after Superman's pure selflessness that changed the way he saw the world. Teaming up with Wonder Woman, together they find and recruit a new team of heroes, a League that has limited time to come together and face a new and powerful enemy, who is about to cause harm and destruction in catastrophic proportions. The film becomes a race against time to stop the evil assault on the planet and save humanity before it is too late.

The movie manages to cover character growth, adding heart and humour, while humanizing the superheroes. With The Flash portrayed as a young, fun and easy going character, while Aquaman is a more serious personality, he could have used more screen time to explain the character. Cyborg on the other hand is seen as the rookie in the team, with powers that are consistently developing. The film could have been made longer as initially anticipated, with time for more depth to understand each character, but the film was only 120 minutes, making it feel a little rushed, instead of it being evenly paced.

The film by director Zack Snyder, together with producers Deborah Snyder, Jon Berg, Charles Roven and Geoff Johns, made in collaboration with production companies DC Films, Atlas Entertainment, RatPac Entertainment and Cruel and Unusual Film, was made with a budget of 300 million and earned 485 million at the worldwide box office.

Rated 7.3/10 on IMDb and 41% on Rotten Tomatoes, this is a film that is a must watch, both for fans of DC Comics and just about anyone who enjoys an entertaining new film that delivers more than what they sign up for. The DC film has definitely given superhero fans and moviegoers a film that is sure to be talked about for years to come.
