International Symposium 2017 Improving advances in inter-disciplinary research

South Eastern University of Sri Lanka, as a higher educational institution, provides a space by way of grants and other resources towards the development of research culture among the academic staff. International Symposium 2017 provides valuable opportunity for academics from different universities leading to knowledge dissemination. It also serves to foster communication among researches and practitioners, working in a wide variety of scientific areas with a common interest in improving advances in inter-disciplinary research and implications, the Vice Chancellor of South Eastern University of Sri Lanka Prof. M.M.M. Najim said.

Chairing the 7th International Research Conference 2017 on the theme 'Multi-disciplinary research for sustainable Development' of the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka held at FIA Auditorium yesterday (7).

Co-Ordinator of the symposium Dr. M.I.M. Jazeel delivered the welcome address and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras Professor Dr. P.V. Manivannan delivered the keynote address.

Although 154 research papers were submitted at this Conference, 101 papers were taken for analysing. Academics and Educationists from India, Malaysia, Pakistan and Bangladesh and Sri Lankan professional from leading Universities too participated in the conference.

Prof Najim thanked the Organizers of this Research Conference and extended his gratitude and said that research findings of this Conference could address national as well as regional challenges confronting the society, he said. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras Professor P.V. Manivannan said he was happy to participate in this research conference and delivered a lengthy address with power point presentation. Professor P.V. Manivannan presented a memento to Vice Chancellor Prof. Najim and the Coordinator of the programme Dr. Jazeel.

At the conclusion of the programme Prof. Najim presented a memento to Professor P.V Manivannan. Secretary of Symposium SL Abdul Haleem proposed the vote of thanks.
