CH & FC came from behind to beat Navy Sports Club by 27 points to 24 points during their Dialog Rugby League match at Race Course grounds yesterday.

CH scored three tries, three conversions, a penalty and a drop goal to the Navy score of four tries and two conversions.
Both teams failed to score in the first 20 minutes though they fought hard. The first try of the match was scored by flanker Yoshitha Rajapaksa for CH & FC. He ran through fast and touched down in the 22nd minute. Conversion was done very well by Samuel Madhuwantha for CH & FC to lead.

Navy equalized soon after with a great try which was made by their strong forwards. It was hooker Dulanjana Wijesinghe who scored the try and the conversion was done by full back Thilina Weerasinghe.
Then CH took the lead through a great drop goal by Madhuwantha and the lead was 10-7. But Navy scored a great try when they worked the ball well and sent Buddhima Priyaratne to score the try. Weerasinghe surprisingly missed the conversion and Navy led 12-10.

CH started the second half so well that put the pressure on Navy and CH won a penalty. But Madhuwantha could not put the easy penalty over.

CH continued to play some great rugby and they passed the ball around so well and that set the chances. In the 50thminute CH took the lead when Sasanka Ariyaratne scored the try. CH worked the ball and their wingers did a great job but the try was scored by Ariyaratne. The conversion was good this time from Maduwantha and CH took the lead 17-12.

CH were on top of their game and Navy had no answers. Their next try was scored in the 55th minute by Samuel Madhuwantha the fly half. He sold a dummy and foxed some defenders and went over for a beautiful try. He himself made the conversion and CH led 24-12. Navy came back somehow in the next few minutes. The game was on CH territory and a try was scored by winger Thanuja Maduranga. They won a penalty and took a quick short tap and Maduranga went over the goal line. Conversion was missed by Weerasinghe and the scores were 24-17 in favour of CH.

Madhuwantha then scored from a penalty for CH and the lead increased to 27-17.
Mohamed Absal the Navy fly half then scored a great try and Weerasinghe's conversion made it 27-24. Navy had no time left to catch up the CH score.
