Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has begun examining the recommendations in the report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry investigating and inquiring into the issuance of Treasury Bonds, Director General of the Commission, President's Counsel Sarath Jayamanne said yesterday (12).

"Our officials are currently in the process of examining the recommendations and other details in the report and if it is necessary the assistance of experts from other agencies would also be sought as the probe continues," Jayamanne added.

He, however noted that the Commission would not need to utilize external parties as its officers and attorneys were adequate.

He added, the Commission intends to complete the probe at the very earliest but stopped short of giving a timeframe or deadline.

He declined to comment when queried, as to whether any politicians would be summoned during the probe, adding that the CIABOC is discreet and exercises confidentiality unlike other State agencies.

It has been reported that the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, too, had received a copy of the Report. However, Governor of the Central Bank, Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy was not available for comment.
