UNP committed to providing better housing Premadasa and group visit ‘Tharawatte’

United National Party (UNP) has pledged to offer better housing facilities for the underprivileged in several areas within Colombo city.

UNP's Colombo Municipal Council Mayoral candidate Rosy Senananyake and Cinnamon Gardens United National Party Organizer Duminda Attygalle along with Minister of Housing and Construction, Sajith Premadasa, visited the under-served community residing at 'Tharawatte', off Maitland Place, in Colombo 7, and spoke to the residents about their housing issues.

Attygalle told the gathering that that everyone including Minister Premadasa is willing to extend their unwavering support to solve the housing, health and children's education issues, faced by the residents, of the 'Tharawatte' community.

Premadasa speaking afterwards mentioned that as an old boy of Royal College, Colombo 7, Duminda Attygalle is a smart, educated and capable youth, and that it is commendable that someone of his stature would dedicate his time and efforts towards politics and the service of others.

The Minister further mentioned that he would ensure solutions for the issues that fall under his purview and also see to it that the Urban Development Authority (UDA) takes the necessary action.

Premadesa eiterated that no one can defeat the UNP in its stronghold of Colombo and that the country needs young leaders like Duminda Attygalle and urged the residents of the 'Tharawatte' community to extend their fullest support to him at the upcoming Local Government Election.
