SLC provides equipment to 14 Clubs

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has invested Rs 60 million to provide 'Ground Equipment' for 14 of its member clubs. 9 Tier A clubs and 5 Tier B clubs were the beneficiaries. This was a project of the National Development Centre of SLC, states the release.
Among the items distributed were grass cutters, manual rollers, hand rollers, outfield rollers, outfield gang movers, manual spike rollers, hand tractors, nylon boundary ropes and turf cutters.

Tier A clubs SSC, Bloomfield, CCC, NCC, Tamil Union, Chilaw Marians, Moors, Colts and Army and Tier B clubs BRC, Navy, Police, Air Force and Panadura Sports Clubs received the ground equipment.
Five clubs, namely, SSC, NCC, Bloomfield, Tamil Union and CCC have also been given two ton double drum rollers each, while the other nine clubs will receive this item within the next few weeks. In addition, SLC will also provide pitch covers for all the above mentioned 14 clubs.

Only clubs having their own grounds were given this equipment. There are 23 clubs representing Tier A and B.
The programme was spearheaded by Kamal Dharmasiri under the direct supervision of President Thilanga Sumathipala and is part of SLC's ambitious initiative towards developing cricket infrastructure across the country.
