92nd National Boxing Championship Army retain men’s title MAS Unichela emerge women’s champs

CT Sports: Army BC pugilists emerged champions at the 92nd National Boxing Championship concluded at Royal MAS Boxing Arena at Reid Avenue on Saturday.

Army BC won the national boxing championship for the third successive year and in doing so they secured five Gold medals, a Silver medal and three Bronze medals, while Slimline BC Pannala took second slot winning two Gold medals, five Silver medals and three Bronze medals.MAS Unichela Koggala retained the women's national title as they bagged four Gold and four Silver medals, while Army BC finished second best winning one Gold, two Silvers and a Bronze medal.Meanwhile, Army BC apart from emerging champions, also produced the best boxer of the meet in P.D.D. Maduranga, while Navy BC's R.G.S. Kumarasinghe was adjudged the best loser.In the women's category J.A.D. Jayasinghe from the champion MAS Unichela team was adjudged the best boxer and H.S. Priyadharshani of Army BC the best loser.
