Leader of The Eelam People's Revolutionary Liberation Front has urged the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) to take immediate steps to unite like-minded parties in order to face the unstable political environment that has arisen following the Local Government polls.

Premachandran addressing a media briefing in Jaffna yesterday urged the TNA to reveal its next step in the aftermath of the victory of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa in the South. "There is no point in the TNA merely stating the importance of uniting like-minded Tamil parties who hold a Tamil Nationalistic view, instead they should take steps to do it," he said.

He stated that the TNA too had faced setbacks in several polling divisions, "We wish to know its future plans," he said.

"There is confusion in the South. There are speculations of a possible regime change. The TNA should have had alternate plans in such an event," Premachandran pointed out. There needs to be a change in approach. The TNA needs changes in its policies and strategies to face situations like this," he further added.
